Site context and survey
Building O in its surroundings within a 330 m radius, about a five-minute walk, with what we recorded on site: blue markers are where we stood to take photos, green ones where we sketched. Pick a level to cut the building open, then click a marker, a record or any part of Building O. Coloured lines are the bus routes that run past the site; set a date and time to see sun and shadows.
Terrain from a 30 m elevation grid (AWS Terrain Tiles), so it shows the overall slope rather than local detail. Ground floor ±0.00 ≈ 280.6 m above sea level. Streets, buildings and routes: OpenStreetMap and V-Busz data, via the commuter model. Building heights come from OpenStreetMap floor counts where tagged, otherwise they are estimated from building type and footprint; hover a building to see which. Trees are detected in the Meta / WRI 1 m canopy height map, which is derived from satellite imagery. The map placed the crowns well but read their heights far too low, so heights were corrected from our roof photos; three tall, narrow trees north of Building O were redrawn by hand. The same photos refined the Polinszky Terem massing, the pitched roofs on Wartha Vince utca and the two car parks.
Gallery
Every photo and sketch from the survey. Hatched cards are records whose image has not been uploaded yet. Open a card to see it large, or to find it on the model above.
Sample records. The photo and sketch markers are placeholder entries in data/observations.json. Replace them with your survey records; the format is described below.
Adding survey records
Images go in assets/photos/ (photos) and assets/sketches/ (scanned or photographed sketches), named after the record, for example P-016.jpg or S-016.jpg. Use JPG, PNG or WebP, about 1600 px on the long side; iPhone HEIC files need converting first. The gallery picks an image up as soon as its record points to it in "image".
Each photo or sketch is one entry in data/observations.json. Coordinates are Rhino model coordinates in metres, so you can read them straight from the model. Clicking any part of Building O in the site model shows the clicked point and the element ID, with a button that copies a ready-made entry.
